Jeffrey Wright What If…?
He Wright portrayed Uatu/The Watcher in What If…? and I Am Groot. He was interviewed for the Assembled episode “The Making of What If…”. Uatu, commonly known as the Watcher, is a fifth-dimensional being who observes the Multiverse through the Nexus of All Realities. The Watcher, like his companion race, took a promise not to interfere with events taking place in the realities he observes. This changed when Ultron, wielding an Infinity Stone, noticed his presence and discovered the Multiverse, forcing him to violate his oath in order to preserve the many timelines threatened by the omnicidal AI.
They were successful in keeping Ultron from spreading his devastation across the Multiverse by enlisting Captain Carter, Star-Lord, Doctor Strange, Erik Killmonger, Gamora, Thor, and, subsequently, Black Widow as the Multiverse Guardians.
Uatu, as a Watcher, swore a pledge to never participate in the affairs of the Multiverse and to only observe what happened. As a fifth-dimensional entity, he spent his time in the Nexus of All Realities, where he could watch all universes. While observing events unfold, Uatu frequently compared the distinctions across different realities, as many universes originated from the same Points of Divergence. Uatu had also been recounting the stories as they transpired in reality, referring to himself as The Watcher. He also joined the Cosmic Entities, as a statue of him was erected at the Gates of Eternity.
Jeffrey Wright Westworld
Wright portrays Bernard Lowe and Arnold in HBO’s Westworld. He is the deuteragonist of Season 1 (with Maeve Millay), the main protagonist of Season 2, and the tritagonist of Seasons 3 and 4.
Following Arnold Weber’s death, Bernard is formed in his image. Dr. Robert Ford produced Bernard several years after Arnold’s death. Ford trained Bernard to believe of himself as human. Bernard served as a staff member and collaborated closely with Dr. Robert Ford. Bernard was initially ignorant that he was a host and worked as the head of Delos’ Westworld Programming Division; however, Ford eventually reveals Bernard’s (and Delos’) host existence, much to their astonishment. Dr. Robert Ford and Dolores Abernathy collaborated to develop Bernard, a copy of his former companion Arnold Weber. Ford tells Bernard in the episode “Trace Decay” that he developed Bernard because Ford’s human workforce was incapable of programming emotions in hosts as well as Ford and Arnold.
