Chanoine began performing stand-up comedy in 2009. New Hampshire Public Radio’s Word of Mouth program named him one of the state’s finest comics, stating, “Jay has plenty of skill. He’s funny. He has personality. And there’s a feeling he could make something out of this.” The New Hampshire weekly The Hippo described his comedy as “edgy”. He appears in director Lisa Romagnoli’s 2013 documentary Wicked Funny 2, which explores the New Hampshire comedy culture. Chanoine has traveled extensively with Austin, Texas comedian JT Habersaat, as well as with Kyle Kinane, Myq Kaplan, and Sam Jay. He is a contributing writer for the satirical website The Hard Times.
