Always Keep Fighting
Padalecki started his Always Keep Fighting campaign via Represent.com in March 2015. Funds were generated for To Write Love On Her Arms, a support group for individuals dealing with despair, addiction, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts, through his initial campaign. Given that Padalecki has been open about his own battles with depression, the cause is especially personal to him.
In order to raise money for their recently established joint charitable fund, Padalecki and co-star Jensen Ackles collaborated to make a t-shirt with their faces on it for the second campaign of the Always Keep Fighting series in April 2015. There were over 70,000 shirts sold. Padalecki went on to start a third campaign later on, selling an additional 40,000 shirts. After disclosing his struggle with depression earlier in the year, more than 6,000 fans at San Diego Comic-Con 2015 stunned Padalecki at the Supernatural panel by holding out candles for him.
Gilmore Girls
Padalecki played the role of Dean Forester, a principal character on WB drama Gilmore Girls. At Doose’s Market, Dean and Rory exchange kisses after Dean first meets him at Stars Hollow High School. They break up for a while, but Rory finally comes back to them. Everything is going well between Rory and Jess Mariano, Luke’s nephew, until she starts to distance herself from him. At a dance marathon, Dean breaks up with Rory, and Rory starts dating Jess. Afterwards, Dean apologizes to Rory and says he wants to be friends with him.
It is discovered that Dean is dating Lindsay Lister during a hockey game. Though Rory acknowledges she wishes Dean will show some lust for her to Lane, she is perplexed by his moving on. After a brief talk during which Dean makes a proposal to Lindsay, they are ripped apart.
In Season 4, Dean marries Lindsay, and they become closer. When Dean yells at her for answering his phone, the situation becomes more tense. Gradually, the previous relationship and attraction between Dean and Rory rekindles, culminating in a passionate encounter in Rory’s bedroom. When Lorelai finds them fighting, it’s shocking, but Dean excuses himself. In a letter to Dean, Rory admits that he cheated on her, and the two of them get divorced. When they first start dating, their relationship suffers and they find it difficult to go on dates because of their hectic schedules. After Dean goes, Rory consoles her.
Supernatural
In the television series Supernatural on The CW, Padalecki played the lead character Sam Winchester, while Jensen Ackles, a native of Texas, played his brother, Dean Winchester. The narrative tracks the two as they pursue monsters across the nation.
Jared has portrayed a number of characters in addition to Sam, the majority of whom made use of his body. Jared portrayed Meg in one episode of Season 2. Sam’s eyes are listed as brown in a police file from The Benders, but they are listed as blue in an FBI file from a later season.
