Jana Schmieding Biography
Jana Schmieding is an actress, comedian, podcaster, and writer of Native American descent. Her most well-known roles are writer and actor on the sitcom Rutherford Falls, actress on Reservation Dogs, and host of the podcast Woman of Size.

Schmieding Clone High
She provides the voices of Sacagawea, the Brontë Sisters, Curly, Jernice, and Caitlyn in the Clone High remake. Sacagawea is a Shoshone explorer’s second-generation clone. The movie “Let’s Try This Again” featured her debut. Sacagawea sports a braid made of light and dark purple ribbons around her glasses. She is dressed in a dark blue varsity jacket with an orange “CH” insignia in the center, and her sleeves are white with orange stripes. She also sports a dark purple skirt striped in red, light purple, and yellow.
The 16-year-old Brontë Sisters attend Clone High School and are genetically identical replicas of the English writers Anne, Charlotte, and Emily Brontë from the 19th century. “Escape to Beer Mountain: A Rope of Sand” was where they first appeared. The three Bronte sisters are an unbreakable unit that are typically completely in harmony. Like their clonemothers, these three prim and proper schoolgirls are highly literate and well-read. They have a history of intermittent polyamory with JFK, one of their many boyfriends over the years, and are also incredibly passionate and promiscuous.
Curly is a co-owner of The Grassy Knoll and the spouse of Mops. Her debut was in “Some Talking but Mostly Songs,” where she unfortunately met her demise. Curly attempted to sell boring quiche at The Grassy Knoll in “Some Talking but Mostly Songs,” but he was turned down. She perished in the building’s devastating fire. In “Saved by the Knoll,” the burial for Curly describes her terrible demise—in which she was fried, tripped, and eaten by clones. Following Curly’s passing, Mops pledged to launch a clothing line with an island motif. He started Tony Jamaica’s after selling the Knoll property to Mr. Big Corporation, although he later went back to work at The Grassy Knoll, albeit in a different location with a healthier menu and atmosphere.
Caitlyn is Topher Bus’s foster mother, a traditional wife. She had the traditional housewife appearance and demeanor of a ditzy airhead from the 1950s. She never stops smiling, and when she moves, her joints creak painfully. At all. She irritates Topher so much that he calls her by her name. “Sleepover” marked her onscreen debut. Caitlyn is a charmingly simple-minded traditional wife who always has a big smile on her face. She offers people Hollandaise sauce as a drink and repeatedly forgets things like people’s names and where her own furniture is, giving the impression that she is mentally ill.
Schmieding Aunty Chuck
Jana’s passion project, Aunty Chuck, is a loose adaptation of the American comedy Uncle Buck. Jana is passionate about introducing comedy to Native audiences and about bringing Native performers and culture into the comedy arena. This was one of Jana’s first screenplays for a motion picture. She created it, and Sundance Native Labs sponsored and evaluated it. The lab gave a very positive response to the cold read. The lead actress in the film is an Indigenous lady. The movie’s idea is around an aunt who doesn’t fit the traditional position of an aunt and instead learns from her “niblings.”
Schmieding Rutherford Falls
Schmieding worked on her writing for three years before being selected as one of the twelve writers for the Peacock original sitcom Rutherford Falls. Relationships between characters in a town in the Northeast and the nearby Indian reserve are the main subject of the program.
Sierra Teller Ornelas (Navajo Nation), who co-created the show with Schmieding, hired her after she had appeared as a guest on Schmieding’s podcast. It was revealed on August 10, 2020, that Schmeiding would write the scripts for the series and co-star with Ed Helms. She has given the show credit for showcasing a contemporary Native lady as opposed to those who are restricted to the Old West.
On April 22, 2021, Rutherford Falls debuted, with the whole first season being accessible on demand. Schmieding’s performance on screen was hailed in the early reviews. Schmieding is a “breakout performer,” according to Saloni Gajjar, who wrote for The A.V. Club. She said that “comedy vet [Ed] Helms…meets his match in co-star and relative newcomer Schmieding, who balances his rigor with a down-to-earth and equally captivating performance.” Schmieding was also deemed the show’s “breakout star,” with Vulture’s Jen Chaney characterizing her as “a natural.” The show was picked up for a second season in July 2021, and Schmieding returned to the role of co-star and writer. The first day of the season was June 16, 2022.
