Jamie Bamber is a British actor best known for playing Lee Adama in Battlestar Galactica and Detective Sergeant Matt Devlin in the ITV series Law & Order: UK. He also appeared as 2nd Lt. Jack Foley in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, Lieutenant Archie Kennedy in the Hornblower series, and as a regular in the British programs Ultimate Force and Peak Practice. Bamber appeared in the TNT medical drama Monday Mornings in 2013 and The Smoke on Sky 1 in 2014.

Bamber was born to Ralph and Elizabeth Griffith. His father is from the United States, while his mother is from Northern Ireland. Bamber attended St Paul’s School in London and graduated from St John’s College, Cambridge, with a first in Modern Languages (Italian and French), before going on to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Battlestar Galactica
Beginning in 2003, Bamber played Lee ‘Apollo’ Adama in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica, which began as a miniseries and served as a backdoor pilot for the 2004 television series on the US Sci Fi Channel (now Syfy). During its four-season run, the show gained critical praise, including a Peabody Award[6] and other nominations; Bamber was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor on Television for Battlestar Galactica in 2004.
In the role of Lee Adama, Londoner Bamber talks with an American accent that is generally praised for its realism; he cites his exposure to his father’s American accent as a child. He also darkened his hair to better resemble Edward James Olmos, who plays his character’s father. Olmos reciprocated by wearing contact lenses with blue irises to match Bamber’s eyes. Bamber authored the foreword to Titan Books’ Battlestar Galactica: The Official Companion Season Three by David Bassom.
Beyond Paradise
In Beyond Paradise he plays Archie Hughes. Archie is introduced in the second episode of the series as the owner of three local vineyards and the wine supplier for Martha’s café, Ten Mile Kitchen. However, when he arrives to make a delivery, it’s evident that he and Martha know each other from back in the day – and they were even engaged!
Archie, like Martha, grew up in Shipton Abbott before moving away with his parents when he was younger. He has recently returned as a successful businessman with high plans, and he is thrilled to see Martha back in town as well. When Archie discovered Martha was having difficulty raising funds for her café, he recommended that he join her as a partner in the venture. But is his offer solely to help an old friend, or may attractive Archie be interested in rekindling an old relationship?

He appeared as Sam Wright, Sally’s ex-husband in the British anthology television series Innocent.Matthew Taylor, a 16-year-old schoolboy, was brutally killed in the tranquil Lake District. Five years later, the accused is declared not guilty and released from prison.
The Smoke
He appeared as Kev Allison, the leader of White Watch in the British firefighter television drama The Smoke. The series follows the thrilling exploits of White Watch, a band of London firemen. Kev, the crew’s leader, is a fine man who was injured and misled during the worst fire of his career. Trish, Kev’s brave girlfriend, and Mal, his confident friend and fellow firefighter, are by his side when he returns to work. The gang also includes the courageous Ziggy and Dennis, the strange new boy.
