Career

He was one of Sirius, rose to the rank of captain, and served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. There, the police chief assigned Connolly to write a joke for the police officer, and Connolly admits this was the beginning of his acting career. After a brief stint as a karaoke DJ in San Diego, Connolly moved to Los Angeles, California, where he began his comedy career in 1995 on the world-famous Comedy Store and Universal Studios tour. Connolly began his career with a stylish stage persona, then abandoned the white shirt and hippie style for a modern look.

Connolly has appeared on Comedy Central and HBO. He won the Grand Comedy Championship on Ed McMahon’s short-lived comedy show and went on several overseas tours as a military entertainer. He is a frequent visitor to Fortune 500 companies and travels to events and conferences around the world. Connolly hosts National Lampoon on VH1’s “Movie Obsessions” and XM Radio’s “Live From Here.” In October 2013, he recorded the SiriusXM Blue Collar Radio Comedy Concert at SirusXM Nashville Studios.

Connolly was named Comedy Grand Champion on the TV talent show “The Next Big Star” hosted by Ed McMahon. It won the “Best of Comedy Festival” award at the San Luis Obispo Comedy Festival and four “Best of Comedy Festival” awards at the Burbank Comedy Festival. He was a finalist in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition (twice), [10] the Comedy Central National Stand-up Competition, and the Boston Comedy Festival (twice).
