James Marsden Biography
James Marsden is an American actor who began his acting career as a guest star on the television shows Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Touched by an Angel, and Party of Five. Marsden rose to prominence for his role as Cyclops in the X-Men film series, as well as his appearances in The Notebook, Superman Returns, Hairspray, Enchanted, and 27 Dresses.

Marsden played Judy Hale’s former boyfriend and lawyer Steve Wood in the Netflix dark comedy series Dead to Me. He later starred in a distinct part in the same series as Ben Wood beginning with the second season. In 2020, he appeared in Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog feature and the Paramount+ television drama The Stand. In addition, Marsden played Phil Crane in the FX drama Mrs. America.
Marsden voiced Hitch Trailblazer in My Little Pony: A New Generation, which premiered on Netflix in 2021. Marsden reprised his role as Tom Wachowski in the 2022 sequel Sonic the Hedgehog 2. He also reprised his role as Edward in the sequel to Enchanted, Disenchanted, which was published on Disney+ in November 2022. Hairspray
Marsden played Corny Collins in the 2007 film adaption of the Broadway musical Hairspray, which is based on John Waters’ 1988 film of the same name. He sung two songs in the film: “The Nicest Kids in Town” and “(It’s) Hairspray.” Both Hairspray and its soundtrack received critical acclaim. His next job was as Prince Edward in the Disney hybrid animated/live-action picture Enchanted, co-starring Amy Adams.
He sang one song as a duet with Adams at the beginning of the film, as well as another with Idina Menzel that was eliminated.
