Hiro finds his gift after missing a Tokyo train, but Ando first dismisses him. He persuades him by bringing a future comic book back from the future. Hiro obtains superpowers in the third season as a result of Petrelli’s formula for retrieving Hiro from the past. His power amplifies the abilities of others, such as Daphne’s travel speed and red lightning’s ability to project energy. Ando’s ability to use passwords to unlock doors and blast security personnel is also revealed.

In the American horror drama television series Lovecraft Country, he played Byung-Ho.
