Franco appeared as Vincent Martino, a bartender, and Frankie Martino, a gambler in the American drama television series The Deuce. Brooklyn-born twin Italian-American brothers who operate out of Times Square join the Mafia and serve as their fronts. The story, which is set in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s, depicts the growing violence caused by the drug pandemic.

Frankie and Vincent Martino, twin brothers, start working as frontmen for the Mafia out of Times Square, where Eileen “Candy” Merrell, a street prostitute who leaves the perils of the streets to work as an actor and director in the newly legalized porn industry, also resides. While the second season jumps five years forward to 1977 and ends in the summer of 1978, the first season takes place in 1971 and 1972. The third season is set in the years 1984–1985.

Franco played Jake Epping, a teacher who travels back in time to try and stop President John F. Kennedy from being assassinated, in the Hulu television miniseries 11.22.63.
