Jake Quickenden is a singer from England, a former footballer, and a reality television star. He appeared on The X Factor’s ninth and eleventh series in 2012 and 2014, before finishing runner-up on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! in December 2014.

Jake Quickenden X Factor
Quickenden auditioned for The X Factor’s ninth series in 2012, singing “Use Somebody” and receiving four yeses from the judges. He sang “How to Save a Life” at boot camp alongside fellow contenders Adam Burridge and Robbie Hance. The judges chose to send him to the judges’ houses, where he competed in the Boys category with Burridge, Nathan Fagan-Gayle, Rylan Clark, Jahméne Douglas, and the series’ eventual champion James Arthur, with Nicole Scherzinger as their coach. Quickenden performed “Back for Good” for Scherzinger and her special guest, Ne-Yo. The next day, Scherzinger decided against putting Quickenden through to the live shows, instead opting for Clark, Douglas, and Arthur.
Quickenden auditioned for The X Factor’s eleventh series in 2014, performing “All of Me” and “Say Something.” He received four yeses from the judges to go to the following round, where he played “Who You Are” by Jessie J. Quickenden received favorable feedback from the judges, however, head judge Simon Cowell chastised his past contestants for returning and said he should not have been dismissed.
Quickenden was sent to boot camp by the judges, where he sang “A Thousand Years” in the six-chair challenge and was handed a chair by his mentor. He performed “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic” at the judges’ houses and advanced to the live shows alongside Andrea Faustini and Paul Akister. Quickenden was eliminated on October 27 after finishing in the bottom two in week 3 against Only the Young, with only his coach Mel B voting to save him.
Jake Quickenden Career
Quickenden was a football player who primarily played as a winger or forward. He started his career as a youth player for Scunthorpe United, but a fractured leg ended his hopes with his local club. Following his rehabilitation, he was offered trials with Bentleigh Greens and Sunshine George Cross in Australia, where he eventually played professionally for two years.
He later returned to England, where he played for Frickley Athletic in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division. He most recently played in the Northern Counties East Football League for Lincolnshire club Bottesford Town. He was rumored to have been given a contract with Gainsborough Trinity in 2015, but he declined. In 2017, he joined Ossett Town.
Quickenden got his start in the media by appearing on the talent competition The X Factor. Since his departure in 2012, he has appeared in a variety of various media outlets, notably as a presenter on the Chart Show TV channel. As an influencer, he is currently pushing things on social media. Quickenden was chastised by the Advertising Standards Agency between May and July 2022 for failing to declare commercial agreements with sponsors on his outlets, including his Instagram account.
