Paul has been the subject of many scandals during his career because of his actions, including participating in dangerous stunts and featuring age-inappropriate material for YouTube content, getting fired from his Disney television show Bizaardvark, and being convicted of criminal trespass and illegal assembly. In late 2015, it was reported that in Disney Channel’s new comedy series, Bizaardvark, Jake Paul will be starring as Dirk. The Disney Channel revealed on July 22, 2017, that Paul will leave the series.
