Jack Whitehall is an English comedian, actor, writer, and television host most recognized for his roles in Fresh Meat as JP and Bad Education as Alfie Wickers. Whitehall was a regular panelist on A League of Their Own from 2012 through 2018.

Jack is the son of Hilary Amanda Jane Whitehall, an actress, and Michael John Whitehall, a television producer. He is a descendent of Welsh lawyer Thomas Jones Phillips, a leading opponent of the 1839 Newport Rising. Nigel Havers and Richard Griffiths, both actors, were his godfathers. He went to Tower House School in London’s East Sheen district, where he met actor Robert Pattinson. He tried out for the role of Harry Potter in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001), but the casting director was dissatisfied.
When he was eight years old, his parents sent him to boarding school. He attended Oxford’s Dragon School and subsequently Marlborough College. He opted to pursue a career in stand-up comedy during his gap year. He studied History of Art at the University of Manchester for two terms before leaving out.
