Irene Bedard is an actress from the United States who has primarily portrayed leading Native American characters in a range of motion pictures. She is most recognized for playing Suzy Song in the 1998 movie Smoke Signals, which was an adaptation of a collection of short tales by Sherman Alexie, and for voice-acting the title character in the 1995 animated picture Pocahontas. In Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World, the direct-to-video sequel to the original movie, and in Ralph Breaks the Internet, Bedard played Pocahontas once more.

In 1985, Bedard received his diploma from Anchorage, Alaska’s Dimond High School. Bedard studied musical theater at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Bedard Marriage
Bedard wed musician Denny Wilson in 1993. The letters of their first names, Irene and Deni, became the band moniker “ID,” and for several years, the two traveled with other musicians in between her films. The couple filed for divorce in 2012 as a result of Bedard’s claims that Wilson had abused him. But Denny refuted each and every one of these charges.

In the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender adaption on Netflix, she portrays Yagoda. Yagoda belonged to the Northern Water Tribe and was a female waterbender. She taught young women in Agna Qel’a how to use their waterbending powers for various therapeutic reasons. She was an expert in the art of healing.
Yagoda was a gentle and rather easygoing woman. She was an excellent teacher of very young female waterbenders because she had a way with kids. She did not, however, consider training any aspiring male healers during the Hundred Year War, and she continued to value the customs of the Northern Water Tribe.
Due to her combination of natural talent and instructional techniques, Yagoda was regarded as one of the greatest healers of her day. Chief Arnook gave her the task of attempting to heal the newborn Princess Yue, but she was unable to do so because Yue was extremely sick.

Bedard appeared as Gina Bad Horse: A legendary activist and Dashiell’s mother in the American unaired television pilot episode Scalped. In the setting of a Native American Indian reservation, Scalped is a contemporary criminal novel that delves into themes of power, loyalty, and spirituality inside a society headed by the aspirational Chief Lincoln Red Crow, who must deal with Dashiell Bad Horse, a former resident of the reserve who has returned home after years abroad.
