Holt McCallany is an American actor best known for his role as FBI Special Agent Bill Tench in the television series Mindhunter, and he has also appeared in several films and television shows, including Casualties of War, Alien 3, Three Kings, Fight Club, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Shot Caller, Wrath of Man, and The Ice Road. In the film The Search for One-Eyed Jimmy, he also played Les, a young film student graduate.

Julie Wilson, his mother, was an American singer and actress known as “the queen of cabaret.” Michael McAloney, his father, was a Tony Award-winning Irish actor and producer. McCallany and his younger brother were sent to live with another family in Dublin because their father desired a classical education for his two sons, while his parents worked in New York City. He attended the National School in Howth, Ireland. However, after his parents’ divorce, the children returned to the United States.
