Henry Rollins is best known as a musician and the founder of the Rollins Band, which was named one of VH1’s 100 Greatest Hard Rock Artists. Rollins has hosted numerous radio shows, including Indie 103’s Harmony in My Head, as well as television shows such as The Henry Rollins Show and 120 Minutes.

He struggled to make ends meet after dropping out of college and worked at several minimum-wage jobs. During this time, he was also becoming more involved in the local music scene, gaining popularity as a roadie for a few bands. When he began performing, he took the stage name, Henry Rollins. In 1980, he joined the punk band State of Alert, which had previously been known as The Extorts. He was the lead singer of the band and also wrote the lyrics. Henry was only 19 at the time and was enjoying the attention he was receiving. He was a big fan of Black Flag and went to many of their concerts.

He performed several concerts with the band and developed his own fan base along the way. Rollins left The Black Flag in 1986 to pursue a career as an independent artist. In 1987, he collaborated with guitarist Chris Haskett and released ‘Hot Animal Machine,’ a hardcore punk record. In the following year, the album ‘Big Ugly Mouth’ was released. With Haskett, Andrew Weiss, and Sim Cain, he formed the Rollins Band in 1987. Sim played the drums, while Andrew played the bass. Theo Van Rock, who was also a band member, was their live sound engineer. ‘Life Time,’ their debut album, was released in 1987, followed by ‘Do It,’ their first EP.

In May 2004, he began hosting a weekly radio show called “Harmony in My Head.” On the show, he performed music from various genres such as hard rock, blues rock, punk, heavy metal, jazz, and classical music. In April 2006, he began hosting ‘The Henry Rollins Show,’ a weekly television talk show that features celebrity interviews and musical performances. The show aired for two seasons before being canceled in September 2007. In addition to being a singer and actor, Rollins is also the author of several books including ‘Black Coffee Blues’, ‘Do I Come Here Often?’, ‘See a Grown Man Cry’, and ‘Now Watch Him Die’.
