Harry Basil is an American stand-up comedian and comedy club operator best known for his impersonations of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Superman. Basil acted in the film Peggy Sue Got Married. His cinematic credits include Meet Wally Sparks, which he wrote with Rodney Dangerfield.

Career
Basil made an acting appearance in the movie Peggy Sue Got Married. Meet Wally Sparks, a movie he co-wrote with Rodney Dangerfield, is among his film credits. New Jersey native Basil was a student at Bergenfield High School, where he produced a student film titled Land Shark. Director Otto Preminger gave Basil a film prize from the New Jersey Institute of Technology when he was a high school student.
As part of a show at The Comedy Store in Las Vegas in May 1984, Basil received significant exposure as a stand-up comedian. The show featured future comedians Louie Anderson, Jim Carrey, Andrew Dice Clay, and Paul Rodriguez, who were all making their stage debuts in Las Vegas. Basil is a partner of the Tropicana Hotel & Casino’s Laugh Factory comedy club in Las Vegas.
Basil collaborated with comedian Rodney Dangerfield on a number of screenplays, including the movies Meet Wally Sparks (1997), My 5 Wives (2000), The 4th Tenor (2002), and Back by Midnight (2005). In addition, Basil directed the motion pictures Fingerprints (2006), Soul’s Midnight (2006), Funky Monkey (2004), and Urban Decay (2007).
