Guy Adami was born in the town of North Tarrytown, New York (now known as Sleepy Hollow). He is the son of Nancy C. Adami and the late Guy M. Adami.
During their stay at Fordham Law School, his parents met and married. His father was a member of the law review, and both graduated in 1963. For more than two decades, Adami’s father served as Village Justice in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. Adami, the eldest of five children.

Adami began his career at Drexel Burnham Lambert in June 1986, where he worked on the floor of the New York Mercantile Exchange. As a vice president, he joined Goldman Sachs’ commodity group, J. Aron, in 1996. He left Goldman Sachs in 2003 to work as an executive director at CIBC World Markets. Adami is a regular guest lecturer at colleges and institutions such as Quinnipiac University, Adelphi University, the University of Richmond, Fordham University, and Georgetown University. Adami has also spoken at his son’s high school, Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey. Adami joined the ranks of Keppler Speakers in 2012.
Adami earned an Ironman on August 11, 2012, after finishing the New York City race in 16:19:52. He completed the 2.4-mile swim at 1:09:03, the 112-mile bike ride on The Palisades Parkway at 8:15:05, and the 26.2 miles run at 6:27:12. His quest to becoming an Ironman was detailed in a New York Times story titled “The Road to the Ironman” published on June 24, 2012. On August 17, The New York Times published a follow-up story. Adami competed in the Ironman as part of a fundraising campaign for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s New Jersey Chapter, of which he is a member of the Board of Trustees. At a Board meeting on December 11, 2012, it was reported that the “Iron team” raised $681,730, which exceeded their initial goal of $500,000.
