Glenn began his broadcasting career when he was 14 years old, working part-time for Miami’s WSVN-TV. Glenn interned at the National Hurricane Center in Miami after graduating from the University of Florida with a journalism degree and a minor in astronomy. He worked alongside Dr. Neil Frank and Dr. Joseph Pellissier. Glenn then went to work for WPTV-TV in West Palm Beach, Florida, as Chief Meteorologist.
For his weather coverage, Glenn garnered multiple accolades from the Red Cross, Civil Defense, and Coast Guard, as well as Best of Cobb and Best of Atlanta Magazines, the Associated Press, and Best of Gwinnett Magazine. He began his post-graduate education in astrophysics at the University of Minnesota while working as the chief meteorologist for KARE-TV in Minneapolis after three years in Florida.
Glenn received numerous accolades during this time, including the Minnesota Teacher’s Award for a weather education series that included students, teachers, and KARE-TV. Weather School ultimately grew out of that program. Glenn joined WSB-TV in 1981 and resides in Marietta with his wife, Susan. Glenn has received multiple accolades at WSB-TV, including Best of Atlanta, Best of Cobb, Best of Gwinnett, Associated Press Weathercaster of the Year, and numerous Emmy nominations.
