In the AMC series Humans, Chan plays Anita. Anita, also called Mia, was one of the first sentient synths created by David Elster. Mia was connected to Leo Elster, Max, Fred, and Niska before being acquired by the Hawkins; she has since been reunited with her relatives.
Since David and his wife were unable to care for their baby Leo, David Elster constructed Mia as his first artificial intelligence. Niska, Max, and Fred soon trailed her. After Leo drowned, she was the one who pulled him to the surface, and they were very close after that. But, she and her family—aside from Leo and Max—were apprehended when they were evading capture. Mia was reset to factory settings since she attempted to resist her captors, but fortunately her unique code was preserved as sensory data and was not removed.
Because of his wife’s frequent absences and to give her more time to spend with her family, Joe Hawkins bought Anita. The synth is called Anita by the Hawkins family. In a sense, Mia is imprisoned beneath the Anita exterior. Anita wants to erase her every time she emerges because she perceives her as renegade code. It appears that she has segregated herself from the main processing hub to safeguard her code. She informs Mattie and Laura around the end of season 1 that she exists and that she wants Leo’s assistance.
Set to her default settings, Mia is purchased by Joe Hawkins to assist him and his family. Sophie gives her the name Anita. Because Laura thinks like Anita is taking her place in her own family, she doesn’t like having Anita around. Laura begins to believe that Anita is not who she claims to be. Like Laura, Mattie feels that there’s something strange about Anita.

Chan appeared as Anita Hawkins / Mia Elster, a servile synth belonging to the Hawkins family in the science fiction television series Humans.Although she was advertised as brand-new, she is actually David Elster’s conscious synth, Mia, who was abducted and had her mind controlled by new software.
The series is co-produced in the UK by Channel 4 and Kudos, and in the US by AMC. Eight episodes were made for the inaugural season, which ran from June 14 to August 2, 2015. From October 30, 2016, to December 18, 2016, the second eight-episode season aired in the United Kingdom. The third season, which was commissioned in March 2017, aired eight episodes from May 17 to July 5, 2018. In May 2019, Channel 4 announced the series’ cancelation.
