For the Chicopee Comprehensive girls’ basketball team, she averaged 23.4 points and 20 rebounds per game when she was 17. Her senior year, she set a school record with 1,719 career points and was awarded a Parade All American. With a throw of 44 feet, six inches, the 6’2″ senior center also held the Massachusetts girls’ state shot-put record
For three years in a row, Koziara led the Big Green women’s basketball team in scoring, and she still maintains a number of school records. With 1,933 points and 1,635 rebounds in 89 games, she became Dartmouth’s all-time best scorer and rebounder. She was also voted Ivy League Player of the Year three years in a row, as well as a two-time Academic All-American and a third-team All-American.
The NCAA named Koziara a Silver Anniversary Award recipient, and he was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame and the Wearers of the Green Hall of Fame at Dartmouth. She was the first of many Ivy League champions for the Big Green. She also won four consecutive Ivy League women’s shot put titles, with a senior year throw of 46 feet, four inches.
