She joined ECHO, a non-governmental organization based in Minnesota that serves immigrant communities, in 2013. Broken Dreams, Absie’s first documentary film, was released in 2011. Absie published The Imperceptible Peacemaker, a graphic novel, in 2014 through CreateSpace, an Amazon-owned self-publishing service.
