The lightning bolt is a reference to Bowie’s Alladin Sane record, which features Bowie as Aladdin Sane with the well-known and legendary “bolt” make-up design over his face. The bolt is occasionally mistaken for a Marilyn Manson tattoo since it resembles the shock emblem first featured on Manson’s sophomore album, Antichrist Superstar.

The music video for Heart-Shaped Glasses (When the Heart Guides the Hand) likewise makes use of symbol similarities to create the illusion that it is a Manson-themed tattoo. This was the same session in which Manson got his spiral heart tattoo. Her first true Manson-related tattoo, dated about January 2009, is a 15 behind her left ear, which matches Manson’s. Evan got another Manson-related tattoo, a heart interwoven with an infinity sign, behind her right ear after they got engaged in 2010.

Her other tattoos include a ‘j’ on her left ankle for former (and current) boyfriend Jamie Bell, the Edgar Allan Poe quote, “All that we see or seem, is but a dream within a dream” across her upper back, a candle based on a Shel Silverstein design on her lower back, the word “unless” beneath her left breast, and one on the inside of her lower lip of a word she has yet to reveal. She formerly had a Beatles-themed tattoo of a strawberry on her right ankle, but it was covered up with a black diamond in honor of both Pink Floyd and her own moniker, “Crazy Diamond”.
