Prior to joining Redeemed in 1986, he began his singing career with the gospel group the Noblemen and also performed with Earthlight and the DMB Band (Dixie Melody Boys). Haase joined the legendary Cathedrals in 1990 and recorded over a dozen albums with them before they disbanded in 1999. In 1999 and 2000, Haase’s solo career began with What a Difference a Day Makes and Never Alone, respectively. Prior to the addition of pianist Roy Webb to the lineup of Haase (tenor), Ryan Seaton (lead), Doug Anderson (baritone), and Tim Duncan (bass) for the 2005 album Haase & Signature Sound, earlier versions of Ernie& Signature Sound appeared on the albums Stand by Me and (released in 2003) and Great Love (released in 2004) as the Signature Sound Quartet. It was released by Gaither Music Group and reached number 59 on the Billboard 200 and number six on the Billboard Christian Albums chart.

They released the holiday album Christmas with Ernie Haase & Signature Sound in 2006, and Get Away, Jordan reached number one on the Christian charts in early 2007. Later that year, they returned to the Top Five with a collaboration with the Gaither Vocal Band. Dream On, which was released in 2008 and featured the same four singers as their eponymous album, received a Grammy nomination in 2010 for Best Southern/Country/Bluegrass Gospel Album. It also charted in the top five on the Christian album chart. A Tribute to the Cathedral Quartet debuted at number three at the end of 2010. The group’s first album, Here We Go Again, was released in 2012 on the new label Stowtown Records, which was started by Haase and producer Wayne Haun. In 2013, they released the album Glorious Day and the video for Christmas Live! After that, in 2014, the live concert Oh, What a Savior was released by Gaither Music Group.
