Eric Weinstein Intellectual dark web
Weinstein developed the term “intellectual dark web” and designated himself and his brother as members after his brother, Bret Weinstein, resigned from Evergreen State College in 2017 due to a school issue. The term refers to a variety of academics and podcast broadcasters.
Eric Weinstein Podcast – Career
Weinstein left academics after attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Mathematician Marcus du Sautoy invited Weinstein to a colloquium held at Oxford University’s Clarendon Laboratory in May 2013. He offered his thoughts on a theory of everything known as ‘Geometric Unity’. Physicists were skeptical of the theory. According to Joseph Conlon of Oxford, some of the expected particles have already been identified in current accelerators such as the Large Hadron Collider. Jennifer Ouellette, a science writer for Scientific American, condemned the colloquium in a blog post, claiming that experts could not adequately evaluate Weinstein’s views because no publication had been published.
Weinstein made a guest appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast on April 1, 2021, and presented a draft paper on Geometric Unity. Weinstein stated in his paper that he “is not a physicist,” but rather a “entertainer” and podcast host. Some members of the scientific community sharply criticized it. Timothy Nguyen, whose PhD thesis intersects with Weinstein’s work, stated that what Weinstein has presented thus far has “no visible impact” and “gaps, both mathematical and physical in origin” that “jeopardize Geometric Unity as a well-defined theory, much less one that is a candidate for a theory of everything.” Weinstein is a member of Avi Loeb’s study team for The Galileo Project.
