Loresca started her career as a news associate at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, where she was in charge of script assembly and teleprompter operation during newscasts. She worked as the noon weather anchor and assignment editor for KGET-TV in Bakersfield, California, from January 2001 to August 2002. She moved to KGPE-TV in Fresno, California, in 2002, where she was the morning and noon weather anchor. She covered two of recent history’s most devastating hurricane seasons. She began forecasting the 2004 hurricane season with Hurricane Frances on her first day at WSVN Miami in 2004. During Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma in 2005, she contributed reports from the National Hurricane Center to her station.
Loresca graduated from Cal State Fullerton’s Broadcast Journalism Program and received a Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University. She was born in the Philippines and moved to Southern California at the age of ten months, growing up in both downtown Los Angeles and Chino. She volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and the non-profit Filipino organization The National Alliance to Nurture the Aged and the Youth (NANAY). Loresca was voted “America’s Sexiest Newscaster” by FHM magazine readers online while working at WSVN. In the October 2006 issue, she was featured.
