Ed Young Ministry Work – Fellowship Church

Pastor Ed attended Florida State University where he also played basketball, leading to him getting a basketball scholarship. He transferred to Houston Baptist University for his bachelor’s degree. He also joined the Fort Worth, Texas Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to study his Masters in Divinity degree.

While at Florida State University and as a sophomore, Ed got a calling to join the ministry. That is when he transferred schools to Houston Baptist University and in-turn, he got an opportunity to work as an associate pastor at his father’s church.

He founded Fellowship Church in 1989 and by February 1990, the church was operational, situated at a rented office complex. It was moved a little for sometime; to an arts center and to Irving’s MacArthur High School (in 1996) to accommodate it’s growing numbers and allow for at least five weekend services as well as large weekly attendance.

In 1998, the church opened a permanent facility in Grapevine, Texas, on a 141-acre property. Then came it’s first two satellite churches in Fort Worth and Plano in 2003.In 2005, Fellowship Church opened another satellite campus in Dallas, Texas.

Since then, the Fellowship Church has opened more satellite campuses: in South Miami, Florida in May 2006, in North Port Florida in 2017, Fellowship Church Norman from Journey Church in Norman, OK in August 2018.

In 2010, Ed Young Television program became the first religious program to air on E! Channel. The program has also been aired on Roku, Netflix and EdYoung.com.
