Ed Stafford, ( born Edward James Stafford) is a former British Army captain, was the first person to walk the length of the Amazon River in 2010. He is well known for holding the Guinness World Record for being the first human ever to walk the length of the Amazon River.. Ed is now a Discovery Channel broadcaster and explorer. He’s also the author of “Naked and Marooned” and “Walking the Amazon.”

Stafford enlisted in the British Army as a Second Lieutenant after graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in September 1998. Stafford served in the Devon and Dorset Regiment for three years, reaching to the rank of Captain before departing in 2002. Stafford features on Discovery Channel in his self-produced series Marooned with Stafford, which is a dual Discovery Channel commission for Europe and the United States. : Into The Unknown, the second installment of the series, follows Stafford as he goes to remote locales to study bizarre and unexplainable markings that have perplexed experts. In the second half of 2015, the show broadcast on Discovery Channel UK and its worldwide counterparts. Another survival show is : Left For Dead.
A reality show about survival With a competition structure,: First Man Out began production in 2018 and broadcast in early 2019. Every week, Stafford gets up with another survival expert in a different corner of the world to compete in a challenging trip with little supplies.
