Eamonn Holmes Wife
Holmes married his first wife, Gabrielle Holmes, in 1985, and they have three children, Declan, Rebecca, and Niall. They divorced in 1994 after Holmes’ father died and her journalism work took a toll on their marriage. Holmes married Ruth Langsford on June 26, 2010, at Elvetham Hall in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire. In July 2010, the couple sold exclusive rights to report on the wedding ceremony and reception to Hello! magazine, which featured the event in two issues.
Is Eamonn Holmes disabled? – Health
Holmes provided an update on his health as he continues to recover from back surgery. Holmes began getting severe back pain unexpectedly in spring 2021, necessitating the use of a walking stick. Further investigation revealed that he had three slipped discs, affecting the movement of his right leg. When he traveled to Belfast to host an event in honor of close friend Gloria Hunniford, he ended up in A&E because his spinal difficulties created bladder and bowel troubles.
The surgeon opted to postpone the procedure because it was “too complicated” for Holmes. He was hospitalized for another nine days before returning to England. His procedure was finally scheduled for September 2022 after he made contact with a specialist surgeon there.
Eamonn Holme This Morning
Holmes began presenting the ITV daytime show This Morning on Friday mornings in 2006 and will continue to do so until 2021. Holmes’ contract with This Morning expired in December 2021, which meant that the husband and wife team no longer hosted the show on school or bank holidays. Holmes lost a First Tier Tribunal (FTT) appeal in February 2020 challenging his position as a freelancer under IR35 laws, with the judge ruling that his contract with ITV’s This Morning program amounted to employment. In his testimony, Holmes identified himself as “..one of the best live television presenters in the country.” In October 2011, Holmes characterized singer Jonathan Wilkes as “retarded” on This Morning. He eventually apologized following complaints and requests for his dismissal.
Eamonn Holme 5G
In April 2020, Holmes appeared to support the conspiracy theory that the coronavirus pandemic was caused by the construction of 5G masts. Holmes stated that he “didn’t accept mainstream media immediately slapping it down” in a segment on This Morning about “Fake News” regarding the virus. He recommended that it was an indication of an “enquiring mind” to research the hypothesis which had proactively been highly exposed by specialists. In any case, that’s what holmes said “it suits the state account” to deny the hypothesis.
Ofcom declared that it was researching the episode. On the program the following day, Holmes read a statement that read: The current national health emergency has nothing to do with 5G, and to suggest otherwise would be incorrect and potentially dangerous.” Ofcom got in excess of 400 protests about the episode and later gave direction to ITV on its inclusion of the pandemic. As Ofcom stated, In our view, Eamonn Holmes’ vague remarks were badly judged and gambled sabotaging watchers’ confidence in guidance from public specialists and logical proof.”
