Doug Mellard is a Los Angeles-based American stand-up comedian. Mellard is recognized for his films The Disappearance of Toby Blackwood (2022), Doug Mellard: Fart Safari 2: Fart Harder (2018), and Law of the Land (2013).

Mellard was born in Victoria, Texas, and grew up in Plano, near Dallas. He’s the second of three brothers. Mellard relocated to Austin to attend the University of Texas. He relocated to Los Angeles in 2010.

Doug Career
Maillard started doing stand-up in 2003 while at university. His performance combines observational humor and surrealism, inspired by Mitch Hedberg and Steven Wright. In 2006, Maillard won the 21st Annual Austin Funniest Person Competition at the Capital City Comedy Club. He is a member of David Huntsberger’s sketch comedy troupe The Hooligan Show and 100 Proof Comedy in Austin. In 2006, Maillard appeared on Season 4 of Last Comic Standing, where she continued to compete on television. He also appeared in the sixth season. . Maillard has performed at comedy shows across the country, including Comedy Central’s South Beach Comedy Festival, Moon Tower Comedy Festival, and SXSW.
Mellard hosts two podcasts. In August 2020, he and comedian Doug Benson launched “Wide World of Dougs,” in which he interviews other people named Doug or other funny names. In 2019, he launched 69th Base With Doug Mellard, a 44-episode sports-themed comedy podcast. Maillard is also the host of Sirius XM radio’s “Naked and Fearless.” Maillard has released three stand-up albums: Fart Safari in 2015, Fart Safari 2: Fart Harder in 2018, and Fart Safari 3: Fart Hard With a Vengeance in 2020. Some critics have noted that the film’s seemingly ironic title overshadows Maillard’s maturity and skill as a comedic actor: Law of The Comedy admired his “perfect and comic irreverence”, adding that “Maillard is far from a pony fart”.
