In the episode “Innocence” from Season Fourteen, Phillips played Danny Wallace, the stepfather of young serial killer Jacob Wallace. The insane, religiously fervent teenage serial killer, family destroyer, and kidnapper Jacob Wallace makes an appearance in the Criminal Minds episode “Innocence” from Season Fourteen.
Wearing a hooded hoodie, he takes his mother for a walk in the woods at the start of the episode. Melissa sobs and promises not to disclose what he did. Subsequently, he fastens his mother to a tree and ends her life by striking her head with the muzzle of a shotgun, leaving a stone cairn by her grave.
