He received a black belt in Wado Kai Karate and Kickboxing as a child and went on to finish sixth in Canada for The WKF (World Karate Federation) Nationals at the age of 18. He attended Cathedral High School and was the captain of his football team until withdrawing due to a number of injuries. A co-op counselor suggested he become a stuntman; she introduced him to the high school theatre instructor who became his mentor, arranging for him to work as an apprentice at the Players Guild of Hamilton community theatre. After working backstage in a few theatre plays, Andres landed a part as an actor in a Players Guild production, playing Jacob in the play Salt Water Moon.
He found his first agency through a close acquaintance and began securing TV and film jobs. In 2015, he was cast in his first leading role in Lady Psycho Killer. In 2016, Andres was cast as Ian Matthews, one of the fathers in Workin’ Moms, a half-hour serial created by Catherine Reitman, the show’s creator and lead actress. He later returned for seasons 2, 3, and 4. In the pilot episode of The Greatest American Hero in 2018, he played Justin Hayes opposite Hannah Simone. Since then, he has appeared in a number of television episodes, including The Strain, The Good Witch, Star Trek: Discovery, and Diggstown.
In June 2020, Andres co-starred with Sofia Carson and Enrico Colantoni in the Netflix Original Feel the Beat, directed by Elissa Down. He starred as Brooks in Blueprint to the Heart (2020) and as Will Fryer in Hint of Love (2020). He appeared in Colours of Love as Craig Harris, the supportive big brother to Taylor, played by Jessica Lowndes. The film, which also starred Chad Michael Murray, was released in 2021. In the 2023 film Bloody Hell, he played Coach Mike.
