Stensland-Mendte has anchored newscasts for TV stations across the country, including WBBM-TV in Chicago, KYW-TV and WTXF-TV in Philadelphia, and WKYC-TV in Cleveland. Stensland began her television career at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, when she received the station’s annual paid internship. She worked as a producer and anchor for WREX-TV in Rockford, Illinois, and WKOW-TV in Madison, Wisconsin, where she also anchored the Sunday morning political talk show “Capitol City Sunday.”
She was the lead anchor at WINK-TV in Fort Myers, Florida, before being hired by WBBM-TV, a CBS-owned and operated station in Chicago, where she worked as an anchor and reporter. Since 2010, Stensland-Mendte has served as the television spokesman for Dreambaby child safety products, which are manufactured by Australian company Tee-Zed. In September 2012, Stensland-Mendte began hosting her own talk program, “A New Dawn,” on WMCN-TV, a ShopHQ-affiliated station with studios in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, a Philadelphia suburb. In March 2013, WMCN altered the show’s name to simply “Dawn.”Stensland-Mendte may currently be heard on WPHT talk radio as the news anchor for Rich Zeoli’s morning show, which airs from 10 a.m. to noon.
