David Ury is an American actor, stand-up comedian, YouTuber, and Japanese translator. Ury is an actor, comedian, and writer/director, best known for his recurrent role in Breaking Bad (2008).

Ury was born and grew up in Sonoma, California. Ury is descended from German Jewish impressionist painter Lesser Ury. He graduated from Sonoma Valley High School and participated in theatre productions. He received a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, then studied abroad in Japan, where he became fluent in Japanese.
David Career
Ury has worked as a film, television, and comic book translator, and currently (as of May 2011) translates and writes English adaptations of comic books. Yuri moved to Los Angeles in August 2001 and began performing stand-up comedy. His neighbor, cartoonist Keith Knight, has described Yuri’s work as “a spy” and “a bunch of critics, critics, dissenters, and weirdos.” Yuri has appeared in many films and television roles, including parts in Tim Kline’s Crossing Jordan and Shoot ‘Em. He has also appeared in television series such as Heroes, Malcolm in the Bank, Life Without a Trace, Breaking Bad, Good Call Saul, Zeke & Luther, and The Librarians. In March 2015, Urie starred as a schizophrenic in Rob Zombie’s horror film 31. A character actor, Urie dies onscreen in almost every role he plays. Yuri also has several YouTube channels/accounts/personas and alter egos, including Karaoke Steve and Ken Tanaka (David Yuri’s twin brother). Tanaka is described as an Ashkenazi Jewish man who was adopted as a baby by Japanese parents Hideo Tanaka and Mary and raised in Shimane Prefecture, Japan;
