Storyline

Impulse follows Henrietta “Henry” Coles, a 16-year-old girl who discovers she has the ability to teleport but has no control over where she goes. When she realizes this for the first time, she is in a truck with her high school’s basketball captain and star, Clay Boone, who attempts to rape her. She has a seizure and teleports, inadvertently crushing much of his truck when her teleportation ability first manifests, leaving him paraplegic. The show then delves into Henry’s feelings of fear in the aftermath of the assault, as well as her discovery that those feelings can activate her teleportation ability.
