Darius Jaren McCrary is an American actor, producer, and singer. McCrary began his career as a kid actor before making his feature debut in 1987’s comedy Big Shots. He is best recognized for his role as Edward Winslow, often known as Eddie, on the hit television sitcom ‘Family Matters’.

McCrary began his career as a kid actor before making his feature debut in 1987’s comedy Big Shots. He also performed in guest spots on episodic television and starred in the 1988 film Mississippi Burning before winning the role of Eddie Winslow on Family Matters the following year. After Family Matters concluded in 1998, McCrary co-starred in the short-lived UPN sitcom Freedom. He played Tommy in the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s Christian production “Something to Sing About”. He appeared in 15 Minutes, opposite Robert De Niro, and Kingdom Come, alongside Whoopi Goldberg. McCrary appeared in two episodes of UPN’s Eve in April and May 2006, alongside his Family Matters co-star Kellie Shanygne.

In 2007, he voiced Jazz in the film Transformers. In 2009, he played Tarix in Bionicle: The Legend Reborn. McCrary has also appeared in films such as Next Day Air and Saw VI, as well as national stage plays like The Maintenance Man. In December, he joined the cast of CBS’s daytime soap The Young and the Restless. McCrary played Malcolm Winters, a part originating by Shemar Moore. McCrary left The Young and the Restless in October 2011, after joining the series with his former Family Matters co-star Bryton James (né McClure). McCrary’s debut album was released the same year.

On January 6, 2010, McCrary appeared as himself in an episode of CBS’s I Get That A Lot. He was pumping gas, while Paris Hilton pretended to be a gas station clerk. She recognized him and requested his autograph. He assumed it was her, and once she revealed her identity, he stated that he believed she was performing community service. Andrionna L. Williams wrote, directed, and produced the theatrical drama In-Laws From Hell, which McCrary later appeared in.
