Tall and slim, with an hourglass figure, Carmilla has pale grey-magenta skin and long, thick white hair flecked with black. Her skin tone is deeper, giving the appearance of a mask, and she has black lips and fangs inside. From her deltoids down, her arms and hands are white. Her hands are huge and proportionate, with black nails. Carmilla has her wrists crossed and dresses like a dancer, with a black dress that is off-the-shoulder and striped and buttoned in white.
She walks on her toes in ballet shoes fashioned of heavenly steel, her black stockings hidden by white ballerina shoelaces. Even though it seems like she doesn’t have any ears, she accessorizes with hooped black earrings. Carmilla looks similar in the pilot, but her hair is looser, her markings are less intricate, she wears a black bodysuit with a crimson belt, and her hands have long fingers and scarlet claws. Rubin-Vega performed as an actress in the first RENT production on Broadway. Her character was Mimi Marquez. In RENT, Mimi Márquez plays the main female role. She works as an exotic dancer at the Cat Scratch nightclub, takes drugs, and has HIV. She is Roger’s love interest during the show and lives downstairs from Mark and Roger. She was once in love with Benny. Mimi, the youngest character, was born around 1970 because she is 19 years old.
Roger’s neighbor Mimi tries to woo him but gets turned down. She accepts Roger’s apology and is invited to join them for dinner and a protest. Roger and Mimi kiss for the first time, revealing their relationship, during the chaos.
