Levy has been married to his wife television writer Rachel Specter since 2010. Together they have three children.

Levy has performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival, the New York Comedy Festival, the San Francisco Sketch Festival, and toured with Aziz Ansari, John Mulaney, and Whitney Cummings. He has appeared on Premium Blend, Comedy Central Presents, Late Night with Craig Kilburn, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Chelsea Lately, The Office and Enlightened, “Atypical” and “@midnight”, and other shows that have attempted television. The Comedy Central album Congratulations on Your Success was released in 2012 and debuted at number 1 on the chart. #1 on iTunes

As a host, Levy has worked on four MTV shows, including Your Face or Mine and MTV Fall, and her own College Humor talk show, IHaveToGoInAMinuteShow, headlined by the Todd Strauss-Schulson Daily performance. Levy created, wrote and stars in Crackle’s 10-episode web series My Longest Conversation. In April 2013, Levy teamed up with DJ Jensen Karp to create the show “Baby Talk”, in which three or four artists ask advice from baby daters ages 5 to 10. The show took place at the NerdMelt Showroom in Los Angeles and later became the JASH Series. Some of the guests include Blake Griffin, Paul Scheer, Natasha Leggero, Bo Burnham, Neal Brennan and Jermaine Fowler.

In the fall of 2016, Levy released his first one-hour comedy special, Dan Levy: LION, on the NBC streaming platform Seeso and Amazon. Levy serves as an executive producer on E!’s Pretty Wild and the VH1 sketch series Stevie TV. Levy starred in episodes 2-5 of “The Justin Bieber Show,” the sitcoms “Whitney,” “Mulaney,” “The Awesomes” and “The Goldbergs.” Wrote for seasons. all the way down to the executive producer. In 2020, Levy created the comedy series Indebted for NBC, starring Fran Drescher, Steven Weber, Adam Paley, Abby Elliott and Jesse Hodges. Since January 2021, he has been the host of the Discovery+ original series House Hunters: Actors on the Couch.
