Rollo was known as a fearsome Viking warrior with an impulsive streak and internal struggles prior to his marriage.

He then joins Ragnar and his family on their pilgrimage to Uppsala, where he engages in riotous behavior and is invited to join Jarl Borg in his rebellion against King Horik.
