Amfo began working as a marketing intern at Kiss FM. During her stay there, she became a broadcaster, beginning with early morning, then on to weekend breakfast, and finally presenting the drive time show. Amfo began hosting BBC Radio 1Xtra’s weekend breakfast show in September 2013.
Amfo took over as host of BBC Radio 1’s The Official Chart in 2015. In February 2015, it was reported that she would be departing 1Xtra to take over from Fearne Cotton as host of Radio 1’s daily mid-morning show, the Live Lounge, on May 25, 2015. During her tenure on air, she interviewed Jay-Z, Dua Lipa, Kendrick Lamar, and Ariana Grande.

Amfo competed in the eighteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing. She was coupled with Aljaž Škorjanec. She was eliminated in week six of the competition.Amfo debuted on Celebrity Gogglebox’s third season in June 2021, alongside her brother Andy.
