In 2004, Hooper won the Western Australian finals of Triple J’s Crude Parody. She won “Best and Fairest” at the National Improvisation Championships in Sydney and was selected to perform in “The Comedy Zone” at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2005. Inspired by the incident, Hooper performed a one-hour live show in 2006 titled Oh in which she did not speak at all and instead communicated through breakdancing, mime, recorded audio, videos, handwritten signs, and recorded audio. The show was well received, and it was nominated for the “Best Newcomer” award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Her 2007 show, “Show Young lady”, was propelled by Kylie Minogue and involved Hooper comparing thoughts of Minogue as noble and cultured with her own bombed endeavors to keep up with pride. She brought her new solo show, “Storybook,” back to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2008 to perform.

Notwithstanding her live satire shows, Hooper has shown up on Australian radio and TV beginning around 2005. Her appearances as a guest comedian on Stand Up Australia and Rove Live, as well as a presenting role on How the Quest Was Won and a regular segment on The Sideshow, are among her television credits. In the Great Debate, which aired on Network Ten in 2007 and featured Stephen K. Amos and Greg Fleet, she was a member of the negating team. In 2008, she was cast to supplant Julie McCrossin as a normal group skipper on Uplifting news Week. In the third episode of the dark comedy miniseries Sleuth 101, she also played the role of a guest detective.

Mel Buttle and Hooper were announced as the hosts of the second season of The Great Australian Bake Off, which premiered in October 2015 on LifeStyle Food. The series returned for a third season in October 2016, and a fourth season in January 2018.
