He is best known for his work with rapper and actor Christopher “Play” Martin in the hip-hop group Kid ‘n Play in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Reed is particularly notable for his extremely faded hairstyle. Reed has appeared on many television programs, including “Martin” and “Sister, Sister”, and has been a member of game shows such as “Your Big Break” and “Showtime at the Apollo Theater”. Reed tours as a stand-up comedian. Reed’s music program recently penned the theme for the HBO movie “Real Time with Bill Maher”. In 2008, he also appeared on the VH1 reality magician game show Celebracadabra. He starred in Asylum’s War of the Worlds: The World Wave, a sequel to H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds. He has appeared on The Dawn & Drew Show, Comics Unleashed, New England Sports Network Comedy All-Stars, and Tilted Comedy. He played the role of The Rhymer on Supah Ninjas. He also appeared in LMFAO’s video for “Sorry for Rocking the Party”.
In 2012, he made a voice-over appearance in the military shooter Spec Ops: Line, in which he played Lieutenant Alfonso Adams, part of a three-man team sent to destroy the Dubai Extermination Investigation MIA Signal Corps, 33rd Curse. Military. In an interview on the “Hip-Hop Confessions” podcast, Reed said that he and Christopher Martin (“Play”) were angry that NBC’s music video was canceled. Their anger at the time allowed their thoughts to get in the way of their desire to do business, and they were unable to secure a major TV deal that would sign Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff and expand the popular film Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Reed admits that at the time, he and Martin were unable to fulfill their desires and think bigger. He is a fan favorite on Dallas sports radio station “The Ticket” 1310 AM/96.7 FM. He is a “guest host” on the station’s sports program and guest host of “The Model and the D Early” with Donovan Lewis.
