Originally from the Philippines, Gambito was appointed Philippine Tourism Ambassador by the Department of Tourism on January 25, 2008. In March 2007, Gambito’s film Mixed Nuts was nominated for Best Entertainment at the 2006 YouTube Video Awards, where he placed second. In May of that year, he became one of the first users to accept YouTube’s revenue sharing. Gambito’s performances often include portraits of family members. He also sings, plays the piano and guitar. As he has pointed out many times in his videos, Gambito is one of the few top users who produce, shoot, edit and direct his own short films. He has appeared in television commercials, films, commercials, and film workshops, and has guest-starred in them, first draft, Live Video Blogging, was first released on September 6, 2006, in which Gambito impersonated four characters, each representing a different style of video blogging.
