For over five years, Macfarlane has hosted CNN World Sport and anchors CNN news programming daily, including Link the World, Hala Gorani Tonight, and CNN Newsroom. Macfarlane has covered significant live sporting events since joining CNN in 2010, including the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, and the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero.
