The Necromongers, religious fanatics who seek to convert all human life and kill those who refuse, launch an attack and seize control of the capital in a single night. Imam is killed in the battle, but Riddicks escapes. The Purifier saves Riddick by telling him that if he stays away from the Necromongers, the Lord Marshal will not hurt him.
