Christi covered the 2016 presidential election, the second inauguration of President Obama in Washington DC, and was on the news desk walking viewers through many historic moments, including the first four hours of one of the deadliest mass shootings in the United States – the shooting of the Orlando Pulse nightclub – as well as the Newtown, CT, and Virginia Tech school shootings. Christi was honored by NCMEC with its prestigious Hope Award in 2012, an award she shares with previous recipients such as former State Secretary Colin Powell, then-Senator Joe Biden, and actor Ben Affleck.
Christi was an anchor, market reporter, and weathercaster in Phoenix prior to joining HLN in 2003. First at KNXV, then at KTVK, a CNN affiliate, where she developed an Arizona Humane Society segment that helped hundreds of abandoned animals find new homes in the valley with families.
