Chris Lincoln Biography
Chris Lincoln is an American sportscaster who called college football for ABC from 1976 to 1979 and anchored ESPN’s horse racing coverage from 1985 until 1998. He recently “semi-retired” from his position as sports director for KTUL-TV (ABC) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Career
He began his career as a sports writer for his high school newspaper and the Royal Oak Tribune. He worked as a student assistant in the sports news office and wrote for the Columbia Daily Tribune. He also worked as a football announcer and play-by-play announcer for David H. Hickman High School games at KFRU. He also served as a reporter for the University of Missouri Sports Network and had access to ABC radio. In this role, he hosted the University of Oklahoma football replay show with Coach Barry Switzer and hosted shows for Oklahoma State University, the University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University. He also called games for the Tulsa Drillers, Oklahoma Outlaws and Tulsa Tornadoes. In 1981, Lincoln left KTUL to found Winner Communications (now Winnercomm), a television sports company. The company would become the largest sports company in the United States. Winnercomm also owns and operates Skycam and Cablecam. Lincoln and his partners sold most of the company to outside investors in February 2006, but Lincoln remains with Winnercomm as a senior consultant for special projects.
In 1976, Lincoln was hired by ABC Sports as one of the network’s regional college football game broadcasters. Lincoln worked at ESPN from 1982 to 1998, anchoring Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing as well as weekly horse races. In 1998, Lincoln organized the Kentucky Derby lottery and was in charge of the draw. He called the number 15 for both horses, causing the entire draw to be repeated. Following this incident, Churchill Downs manager Tom Meek announced that neither ESPN nor Chris Lincoln would participate in the raffle again. Lincoln also broadcasts college football, varsity football and Canadian Football League games for ESPN. In 1999 Lincoln became an international member of the Racing World Championship series. In May 2007, Lincoln returned to KTUL as athletic director. Lincoln was the host of the weekend night game from May 2007 to August 2011) and John Moss. Moss was named athletic director in January 2013.
