Saturday Night Live

After coming to Los Angeles at the age of 25, Oteri worked at A&M Records for four years before joining the renowned comedy troupe The Groundlings. In 1995, Saturday Night Live (SNL) producers attended a show with the goal of auditioning fellow Groundlings member Chris Kattan. Oteri delivered a monologue during one of Kattan’s costume changes, prompting her own invitation to audition for SNL alongside Kattan and fellow Groundling Will Ferrell. She was hired as a performer in September 1995 as part of a nearly all-new cast, following the show’s catastrophic 1994-1995 season.

Puppy Dog Pals

She appeared Esther Exposition, Frank’s wife in the American animated television series Puppy Dog Pals. She is shown to have a pet iguana named Iggy in the episode “Hissy’s Big Day”. Puppy Dog Pals is about Bingo and Rolly, two pug puppy brothers who have a good time exploring their neighborhood and the world after their owner Bob leaves. Oteri has acted in several films, including Scary Movie, Inspector Gadget, Liar Liar, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd, Shrek the Third, and Southland Tales. She starred in two unaired TV pilots: Loomis and With You in Spirit. She made cameo appearances on Just Shoot Me!, Strangers with Candy, and Curb Your Enthusiasm, where she played Martine, the emotionally unstable nanny.

In 2009, Oteri was cast as a regular voice in the Fox animated comedy Sit Down, Shut Up.She portrays Helen Klench, an underappreciated librarian who is frequently mistaken for objects like brooms or toilet brushes. The series debuted on April 19, 2009, then moved to Comedy Central in May 2010.

On Imagination Movers, a frequent show on the Playhouse Disney program, Oteri portrayed a tooth fairy. In 2010, she starred in the Liza Life Coach online series on AMC. Oteri had an appearance in the Glory Daze pilot episode, which debuted on TBS on November 16, 2010. On May 26, 2016, she was the host of AXS TV’s Gotham Comedy Live in New York City.
