He started his career with television shows such as “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”, “Saturday Night Live”, “The Office” and “Guys With Kids”. Grandy has collaborated with actress and producer Mindy Kaling on films including “The Mindy Project,” “Champions,” “Four Weddings and a Party” and “Girlfriend Sex.” He is the son of Love Boat star and politician Fred Grandy. After working as a comedian, Grandy turned to writing for television and became a writer on Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show in 2001. Following his career, Grandy became a writer and producer at Saturday Night Live, where he worked until 2008. Responsible for updating graphics for holidays. In the same year, he joined the writing team of the fifth season of the American version of The Office. He became a producer at the beginning of the sixth season and became an executive producer when the series entered its seventh season. After her show “Guys With Kids” was canceled, she joined former Office colleague Mindy Kaling as a writer and executive producer on the second season of her show “The Mindy Project.” Grandy and Kaling created the NBC show Champions in 2018.
