Charles Jaco is an American journalist and novelist best known for his reporting of Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait. He worked with NBC Radio from 1979 to 1988.

Career
He began his broadcasting career in 1976 at Chicago, Illinois’ WXRT radio station. He worked with NBC Radio from 1979 to 1988. In 1987, Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega’s security agents severely beat him. In late 1988, he began working as a CNN correspondent. In 1989, while reporting on claims of electoral fraud by the Panamanian administration, Jaco was visited by Noriega vigilantes. He escaped the nation with the help of the United States military. While reporting the Gulf War for CNN in 1991, he proposed to Pat Neal, another CNN correspondent. He quit CNN in 1994 to join KMOX. He wrote Dead Air, a novel about the Gulf War, and Live Shot, a novel set in Cuba.
He started working at radio station KTRS 550, where he hosted a daily morning talk show known as The Jaco Report. In February 2010, Jaco allegedly ran into conservative blogger Adam Sharp. The municipal prosecutor decided not to charge Jaco based on Sharp’s video of the interaction. J.C. Corcoran succeeded Jaco at KTRS in October 2010. In August 2012, Jaco interviewed then-U.S. Representative and Senate candidate Todd Akin on The Jaco Report, during which Akin controversially claimed that women seldom got pregnant as a result of “legitimate rape.” Jaco left KTVI in 2014. Jaco writes a regular piece for the St. Louis American.
