White previously worked as a presenter and senior broadcast journalist for BBC Look East, Radio 5 Live Morning Reports, BBC Three 60 Seconds, and BBC News. She was also the host of her own late-night talk show on BBC London 94.9. She began working as a reporter for Radio 1 Newsbeat and its sister digital station, BBC Radio 1Xtra, in 2002. In 2005, she co-hosted 1Xtra’s two-hour news, magazine, and documentary show TX with DJ G Money. She has also previously worked as a reporter and producer for ITV News Meridian in Kent. She joined ITN in 2008 as a newscaster for ITV News at 5:30 a.m. on ITV.
She would also host three short opts that aired as part of GMTV for ITV News London on ITV London. She left these positions on October 10, 2012, but continued to host ITV News London’s main 6 pm show. White became the first black woman to present ITV News at Ten on April 9, 2014, and worked as a relief presenter until October 2015. Until 2019, she also presented the ITV Weekend News on occasion.
